When I don’t have models to photograph, sometimes I practice my lighting at home. If Jon is in town, I ask him to collaborate with me on testing ideas. One night in 2007, we wanted to try some commercial concepts with pretty, soft, wrap-around lighting. The beauty dish never fails us, and our tight shooting space (I live in a shoebox) with its eggshell-white walls provided nice fill.
I did not bother retouching this image because I wanted to keep it clean and natural. I did my own hair and makeup, threw on a bathrobe, and craved a glass of OJ, anyway–which goes to show you can create commercial shots in the very comfort of your own home. Hopefully, your space is larger than my apartment!
On a side note, my friend, Angela, found this image. You should check out her website: www.angelakariotis.com. Thanks, Ang!
