If you are like most photographers and struggle with skin retouch, you need to visit Jaysen Turner’s blog. He shares insight on his preferred method for skin and texture, utilizing the split frequency technique. It’s a smart way to preserve and sample texture vs. annihilating all pores to create skin that looks plastic.
I photographed the lovely and talented Asia Nitollano last year in San Diego. You may remember her as the winner from the Pussycat Dolls reality TV show in search of a new Doll. I shot this image for a calendar but knew I would be too overwhelmed to take on the retouching as well. I enlisted Jaysen to help a girl out, and he did a beautiful job.
