I want to thank everyone for their encouragement and support as I celebrated my first gallery exhibit. In celebration of Asian-American art and artists, I showcased some of my smoke art printed on canvas, with all proceeds going to charity. The response overwhelmed me completely. My friends Alice, CJ, Stefano, Sharon, Joanamor, John and Christine, Rita, Eileen, Vickie, Chris, James, Andrea, Mitesh, Oojin, Diana, and Phil (kick me if I missed anyone) came out to support the cause, and out of 14 artists, I was the only one that sold out. I stood there in shock as each piece sold “like hotcakes,” as one participant put it. It truly humbled me to show my work amongst some truly talented artists.
The organization running the exhibit, APEX, did an amazing job. The director secured a $5-million condo overlooking the city, and my photography had the Empire State Building as the backdrop. I had a wonderful time and wish I had printed bigger pieces. I shyly admit I did not know my photography would get such a positive response. Thanks again for the love and encouragement. I had a blast!
