Following my recent love for location photography, we set out to Battery Park to take advantage of the glorious sunshine, warm weather, and fantastic views of the Statue of Liberty. Markéta requested traditional beauty shots, so I experimented with the Canon 24-70 mm lens even though I generally use the 70-200 mm for beauty work. I also wanted to create an editorial rather than a lonely, solitary shot from the entire shoot.

Here, I decided to go with a summer white story.  While I worked on the storyboard, I selected the most feminine whites from my clothing collection. Markéta supplemented the wardrobe with some of her own pieces, and Diana, the makeup artist, helped me realize my vision by bringing jewel-toned accessories. Diana also complimented each piece by choosing the right shades of lipstick/gloss to go with each look.

Jon assisted us by reflecting light on Markéta. He always knows how to enhance each photograph by the right color of reflector, and it always cracks me up when I see him double-fisting a reflector in one hand and a diffuser in another. Jon chose a gold reflector for most shots to give Markéta a warm, luscious, summery glow.

Teamwork rocks.
